Oban Municipal Building

Following significant population growth, Oban formally became a police burgh in 1862 and required the need of a town house for administrative purposes. Located on Albany Street in the West Highland town of Oban, Scotland, the Municipal Building was designed by Alexander Shairp. Building commenced in 1987 and was completed in 1900. Today it is classified as a Category ‘B’ listed building. The design itself is of a stately Victorian style and built in ashlar stone, reflecting the general architectural style that characterises much of the build in central Oban.
