Leeds & Liverpool Canal
The Leeds and Liverpool Canal runs across a distance of 127 miles (204km) linking the city of Leeds and Liverpool directly. The canal includes 91 locks on the main line and has several small branches. Construction began in the late 1700s, and took almost 50 years to complete. The canal stretches through beautiful swathes of English countryside and is often visited by passing barges and those on short holidays. This drawing is located toward the Leeds side, close to the town centre.
